TMBG
So Kevin and I have been living in the house for a month and a half now. We settle on Friday so we'll finally own the house instead of just renting it. The sellers were supposed to get the rest of their stuff out this weekend (they still have the dinning room and two of the bedrooms full of stuff) but they didn't. Apparently they are instead coming Wednesday morning. Which means we need to take time off of work to be here. I'd rather them not do it while we're out of the house. Especially since their using movers.

I guess I haven't talked about the house much here. It's in the 'burbs. Yes, we're not living in the city anymore. No, this does not mean we're socially dead. We're still making it out to get togethers when we can. For a while we were occupied with repainting the porch for inspection. That took a lot longer than we thought it would. We had to scrape and sand first and that probably hadn't been done in a couple decades so there was a lot of that to be done. We've also been working on cleaning out the front and back yards. There's so much ivy and other weeds to clean out. There's also a handful of badly located trees we'll have to get removed. *sigh*

So anyway, the house. It's a four bedroom house with a basement and a finished attic. There's also a dining room and a small sitting room.  It's got a huge backyard where we plan on planting veggies and herbs and a few hazelnut bushes. I've never had a yard before, so I'm enjoying the yard work so far. I'm sure I'll get tired of it soon. Hehe.

We probably won't get the place ready for a housewarming until either October or November. We want to get a second bathroom set up before we have a large group of people in.

Work is going well except I was supposed to have a raise starting Sept 1st (well I thought I'd get it July 1st, but that didn't happen either) and there's still no word on what it will be. At least I'm told it will be effective Sept 1st so I'll get backpay on my raise when it does go through.

Today I turn 31

And things are going pretty well for me. I have a great boyfriend (and we're in the process of buying a house!), a good job, two cute cats and I managed to do the Broad Street Run this year. Go me. :)

What I did this weekend

The Broad Street Run.

Ugh

TMBG
Dispite taking a dose of night-time cold medicine around 11 pm I am not able to fall asleep. This does not bode well for tomorrow.

In which I complain about my health

TMBG
I've been sick a lot lately. Starting with general congestion, leading to an ear infection and now a hacking cough that makes it impossible to sleep for more than a few hours at a time. I mentioned to Kevin the yesterday that I felt like I've been sick the entire winter. He corrected me. I've been sick longer than that. I started being sick mid-December. *sigh*

Well, to make this post not entirely about my sickness, Kevin and I recently booked airline tickets for our big trip coming up in June. We'll be flying to Prague and then Israel to see my brother and then my Mom get married (my mom for more of a religious thing since they already got married by a judge). I'm looking forward to it, but I'm a little worried about how I'm going to handle packing clothes for it. Apparently it's an additional $50 per checked in bag. While Kevin seems to think we'll be able to get away with carry on only I'm a bit skeptical.

Work's been alternating between slow and crazy since we're discovering that the software we use handles data even worse than we thought it did. Bleh.

I'm continuing to work out at the gym and occasionally go running. I've seen some results. Yay! Hopefully once the aforementioned sickness stops I'll be able to work out more consistently. I'm also trying to get my running good enough to participate in this year's Broad Street Run. Anyone else do that here?

That's about it. I'm going to go play some more Tales of Vasperia.

So Kevin and I have both been trying to lose weight. I've been trying to reduce my food intake and go to the gym three times a week. Our first goal was I would lose 7.5 pounds and he would lose 15. I met my goal last night. So now I have to decide where he has to take me to dinner (provided I maintain it for a week). It has to be somewhere not *too* expensive. So, any ideas?

Update:
I'm still at my job. Go me!

I was an Empty Child nurse for Halloween (once I get the picture off of Kevin's phone I'll post it).

I guess that's about it.

I'm off to vote! Don't forget!

Quick post before I go to work

TMBG
I turned 30 recently. I'm starting to feel it, too. *sigh*

I'm trying to lose weight. I rejoined a local gym a couple months ago. I may have lost a couple pounds. I'm not sure it keeps going up and down. I have a new gym partner so hopefully that will help keep me motivated.

I went to Wizard World last weekend and got my picture taken with Katee Sackoff. :D

It's going up to 99 again today. At least it's going to rain. *sigh*

BSG Viewing Update

TMBG
Well, I guess it's not really an update since this is my first post about it, but I've been slowly going through the first three seasons of Battlestar Galactica. And last night I watch the finale for season 3. So good!

So if people feel the need to discuss BSG in my presence, they can down talk about anything up to the end of season 3. :)

I got an early birthday present!

Last night Kevin surprised me with a digital camera! It's a Cybershot DSC-S700. It's 7.2 megapixels! I took a few pictures with it last night but I can't wait to really take some pictures. :)
